Regardless of which coating you have had installed - or even if you're simply considering an automotive coating in the future - we recommend utilizing either a touchless car wash or hand-mitt wash. Car washes that use those rotating brushes favor convenience over any concern for your vehicle. Not only have those brushes touched every dirty car in front of you, but check out the pics below to see the damage they do when they scrape across your clearcoat.
The "spider-webbing" you see here is not supposed to be there! This is the result of using car washes where brushes remove dirt at the expense of your clearcoat - the coating designed to protect your vehicle's paint from rust, fading, etc.
Here you can see "spider-webbing" on the rims of a Tesla that suffered the same treatment. Each time you go through a car wash that uses brushes, you're scraping away the protection that's been applied.
If you've already had a coating applied or would like to in the future, avoid those brushes! They're either eating away at the protective coating or increasing the time/effort it takes to prep for a future coating.
Here, the before and after clearly shows what brushes will do to your coating, and what your vehicle should look like. This kind of damage takes roughly 30 hours to correct and coat, so protect your coating and AVOID THE BRUSHES!
